HUGE Update

WELL. Have I got a lot to update you on. Lemme give you a list.

1) I will be attending Ravencrest Chalet, a Bible school in Estes Park that is a part of the Torchbearers organization, which is what Capernwray is. I begin on September 7 and will be going there until next Spring. After that, I hope to go to UNC to study Theatre Design & Technology. I had gone through the whole interview process there at UNC, but changed my mind a few months after.

2) I have been working at Village Inn for seven months now, and I just handed in my two-week notice on Friday because of school starting. I was a busser up until early June then I changed my position to hostess. I was nervous about becoming a hostess, but it's mostly a breeze, and I like it more than bussing. It's more fun because you actually get to communicate with people, unlike bussing, where you basically just clean the entire restaurant. Getting a job wasn't all that scary!

3) Guess what? We went to Disneyland!! My dream came true, and it was a blast!! We went to each park for one day and went to the beach just briefly, but it was all so amazing! We were also able to visit Hollywood Blvd. for a few hours, which was awesome. That trip was definitely the highlight of my summer!

4) It's probably obvious that I've graduated. Senior year went by so, so fast. Honestly it wasn't my favorite year of high school because I didn't do much with my life and my classes were pretty easy. It just kinda happened.

5) Oh yeah, I almost forgot to mention the biggest change: My dad found a teaching job in Austin, TX, so we moved out of our house... it's a bit of a complicated situation really. My parents, my brother and my two dogs moved to a town about an hour from Austin called Wimberley. My sister has a full-time job in Westminster, CO and has an apartment in the basement of someone's house in Mead, which is about 20 minutes away from where I live. I am living with my Gran and her little dog, who are less than a mile away from where we used to live. So yep, that's the situation.

I think that's all I have to update you on, but other than that, I'd like to tell you briefly about my goal. With everything that has happened this year, I see it as a chance to make a change in my life. I would like to be more confident, selfless, kind, non-judging, loving, happy, courageous, and a better Christian. I am starting a fresh chapter in my life with a new place and new people, so I can and I should take this opportunity to change my life for the better. I just need to DO it, as Shia Labeouf would say.
